Introducing the GX-6000 6 Gas Sample Draw PID and Super Toxics Gas Monitor from RKI Instruments. This powerful hand-held instrument is capable of simultaneously monitoring up to 6 gases. This gas monitor comes preconfigured with sensors for the 4 standard confined space gases which include combustibles, LEL, O2, CO, & H2S. Additionally, we've also customized this gas monitor's smart channel with a PID high range 6,000 ppm sensor. You may also select a 6th Super Toxics sensor (NH3 or HCN). Equipped with a strong internal sample pump, a man-down alarm, a panic alarm, an LED flashlight, and large auto rotating LCD display, the GX-6000 is a powerful tool. The GX-6000 with a PID sensor will come equipped with a library of over 600 VOC gases to choose from as standard. Choosing from the library is easy with a personalized favorites list of 30 commonly used VOC's as well as a list of 8 of the most recently used VOC's. The GX-6000 has a rugged design built for the nastiest environments. It is equipped with a removable impact-resistant rubber boot and a dust and water resistant enclosure with an IP-67 rating. With 5 bright LED lights on 3 sides of the instrument, alarms are easily seen from a variety of perspectives. With vibration and loud audible alarm, GX-6000 will easily alert users when needed. If Cl2 is chosen as the 6th sensor, there is a strong interference between the H2S and Cl2. However, this configuration is possible as long as the end-user is well aware of the limitation and is fine with that. H2S suppresses the Cl2 reading. if Cl2 sensor is exposed to 25 ppm H2S for 2 minutes, it takes an hour or 2 for the Cl2 sensor to recover. There is a special procedure to calibrate the monitor with the H2S and Cl2 sensor.
- Cl2 cylinder needs to have a dedicated regulator which should not be used with any other gas specially H2S. Teflon lined calibration tubing should be used.
- 5 ppm Cl2 is recommended to calibrate the Cl2 sensor. After conditioning the regulator and tubing, it is recommended to apply the calibration gas for 5 minutes while calibrating.
- Cl2 senor should always be calibrated before the standard 4 gas.
